Overview

These terms of use ("Terms") govern your use of SUNOQ, a web and mobile application that lets you create and vote on group questions.

By using SUNOQ, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

SUNOQ is provided "as is" without warranties. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.

Who can use SUNOQ

SUNOQ is for users aged 16 and older. By using SUNOQ you represent that you meet this age requirement.

If you are under 16, you may not use SUNOQ.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use SUNOQ to:

  • Harass, threaten, demean, or discriminate against any person or group
  • Name, describe, or try to expose private individuals or share their personal information
  • Post illegal content or incite violence
  • Spam, advertise, or repeatedly post meaningless content
  • Impersonate another person or entity
  • Attempt to damage, disable, or interfere with SUNOQ's operation
  • Violate any applicable law or regulation
  • Copy or scrape content without permission

SUNOQ reserves the right to remove content that violates these rules and suspend or terminate accounts of users who repeatedly violate them.

Your content

Your Responsibility: You are responsible for the content you post (questions, comments, reasons). You represent that:

  • You own or have permission to use the content
  • The content does not infringe anyone's intellectual property rights
  • The content complies with these Terms and applicable law

Our License to Use Your Content: You keep ownership of your content. By posting content on SUNOQ, you grant SUNOQ a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, transferable and sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, adapt (for example format, translate, crop or resize), display and distribute your content:

  • in the app and on SUNOQ's websites, including link previews and share images;
  • outside the app, including on SUNOQ's social media accounts and in materials that promote SUNOQ;
  • next to sponsored or advertising content shown in or around SUNOQ.

Other users may view your content and share it through the features SUNOQ provides.

Invite-only content: Content in questions or disputes that are visible only to invited people is used outside that group only after it has been made public under the app's rules.

Your name: When we show your content outside the app, we show it under the name you chose for that content, or without a name.

When the license ends: The license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies other users have already shared, materials already published before deletion, and copies we must keep by law.

Removal: We may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law, or for any reason at our sole discretion.

Moderation

SUNOQ uses automated AI screening and human review to enforce these Terms. We may:

  • Remove content that violates these Terms
  • Exclude votes from tallies for fraud prevention
  • Suspend or ban users who repeatedly violate these Terms
  • Comply with legal requests (court orders, law enforcement)

We will not provide notice before removal or suspension, but users may contact support to appeal.

Reports and blocks

Reports: You can report questions and comments that violate these Terms. Reports are reviewed by our team for moderation.

Blocks: You can block other users. You and the blocked person no longer see each other's comments.

Neither reporting nor blocking guarantees removal; we review all reports and make moderation decisions in our sole discretion.

No warranties

SUNOQ is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties, express or implied, including:

  • Fitness for a particular purpose
  • Merchantability
  • Non-infringement
  • Uninterrupted or error-free service

We do not warrant that:

  • The service will meet your needs
  • The service will be uninterrupted, timely, or secure
  • Any defects will be corrected
  • SUNOQ will continue to be available

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SUNOQ and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill
  • Even if advised of the possibility of such damages

Your sole remedy is discontinuing use of SUNOQ.

Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SUNOQ and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:

  • Your use of SUNOQ
  • Your content posted on SUNOQ
  • Your violation of these Terms or applicable law
  • Your infringement of anyone's rights

Termination

SUNOQ may terminate your account or access at any time, with or without cause, and without notice. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION TO BE DETERMINED], without regard to conflicts of law principles.
